1. Acceptance and scope
By creating an account, signing in with Google or GitHub, posting a comment or reply, or using another account feature, you agree to these Terms and the DuskRain Community Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use features that require sign-in; you may still browse public pages.
DuskRain Community is the community account system for the personal website duskrain.cn. It provides email registration and sign-in, email verification, password reset, Google/GitHub sign-in, public names and profiles, comments, and replies. Features may change as the personal site is maintained. A material change to data processing will also be reflected in the Privacy Policy.
2. Accounts and sign-in
Email accounts
Provide an email address you control and reasonably protect your password, verification and reset links, and devices. Plaintext passwords are not stored; authentication uses an Argon2id hash.
Google sign-in
Google sign-in requests only openid, email, and profile. Google sub, a verified email, and a display name are stored as the long-term identity information required for the DuskRain account. Google access and refresh tokens are not written to the application database. Sign-in does not grant DuskRain access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar, or other Google content.
GitHub sign-in
GitHub sign-in reads only the numeric user ID, username or name, and a verified email. The access token is used only during that sign-in, is not written to the database, and is not used to read repository content.
Account linking and responsibility
A provider identity may be linked to an existing DuskRain account when the verified email matches and security checks pass. You must not sell, rent, maliciously share, or impersonate another person through an account; use bulk registration or automation to bypass controls; or knowingly allow a compromised account to be used for abuse. Contact us if you believe an account has been misused.
3. Public names, profiles, and content
Public display names, profiles, comments, and replies appear on public pages. Before submitting, make sure the content does not contain an email address, phone number, home address, credential, secret, identity document, or other information you do not want to disclose.
You are responsible for submitted content and should have the right to post any text, images, links, or other material you provide. Public content may be viewed, quoted, copied, cached, or indexed by third parties. DuskRain can manage content on its own service but cannot control copies already retained elsewhere.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- post unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, hateful, infringing, or malicious content;
- disclose another person's private information, credentials, secrets, or sensitive data without authorization;
- spam, manipulate interaction, register accounts in bulk, or automate abuse;
- distribute malware or attack or interfere with the site, servers, account system, or other users;
- probe, bypass, or exploit non-public interfaces, authentication, access controls, or security restrictions without authorization;
- impersonate an official representative of DuskRain, Google, GitHub, or another person or organization; or
- use the service in another way that clearly harms users, the site, or third parties.
Normal technical research, browsing public pages, and ordinary use of public interfaces are not expanded into prohibited conduct by this clause. The restriction is directed at unauthorized attacks, bypasses, and abuse.
5. User content and necessary permission
You retain the rights you hold in your original content. Solely to operate the community, you allow DuskRain to store, copy, format, display, back up, secure, and reasonably moderate submitted content to the extent necessary to provide and maintain the service.
This permission is non-exclusive and does not transfer ownership. It does not authorize DuskRain to sell user content to data brokers, use it for undisclosed advertising profiles, or use it for unrelated purposes. You may request deletion of account-related content through the Privacy Policy, but we cannot guarantee removal of third-party copies, quotations, caches, or indexes.
6. Moderation and account measures
Where reasonably necessary for security, applicable requirements, and basic discussion quality, DuskRain may hide or remove unlawful, infringing, spam, or malicious content; limit abnormal actions; revoke sessions; suspend or disable accounts used for abuse; and take temporary protective measures during a security incident. Obvious attacks, bulk abuse, impersonation, or legal requirements may be handled immediately.
If you believe a content or account action was made in error, contact us and explain the situation.
7. Third-party sign-in and services
Google and GitHub sign-in are also governed by those providers' own terms and privacy policies. DuskRain Community is independent of them; a sign-in option does not mean that Google or GitHub sponsors, certifies, or endorses the service.
Gmail SMTP is used only for DuskRain to send verification and password reset messages. It does not allow DuskRain to read a user's Gmail account. The site may link to third-party pages; once you leave duskrain.cn, the third party's own rules govern its data handling.
8. Privacy and data requests
How email addresses, password hashes, Google/GitHub identity data, cookies, sessions, and public content are handled is explained in the Privacy Policy. From your registered address, email prdusk.com@gmail.com to request access, correction, export, or deletion.
Revoking Google or GitHub authorization does not automatically delete a DuskRain account. If you also want specific comments or replies handled, identify the relevant content or page in the request.
9. Availability and responsibility
DuskRain is a personal website operator and will make reasonable efforts to maintain the service, but does not promise uninterrupted operation, permanently unchanged features, permanent availability of third-party sign-in, permanent storage of every submission, or error-free operation on every device or network. Maintenance, security issues, third-party changes, or resource limits may require adjustment, suspension, or discontinuation.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, DuskRain is not responsible beyond mandatory legal requirements for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses caused solely by third-party sign-in or mail interruption; a user publishing sensitive information or disclosing credentials; third-party copying of public content; or infrastructure failures outside DuskRain's reasonable control. Nothing here excludes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be limited.
10. Stopping use, updates, and contact
You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. DuskRain may suspend or disable an account for serious abuse, security risk, or a legal requirement. Limited information will continue to be processed only where necessary for a security incident, dispute, or legal obligation.
When community features, account methods, or operating rules materially change, we will update these Terms and the effective date and will provide a reasonable notice where practical. Continuing to use interactive features after an update means you accept the then-current Terms.
